Aaron Simpson adopted the moniker of “El Pequeno Nino Baterista(The Little Drummer Boy)” in 2008 at the beginning of his return to DJ’ing. Aaron started DJ’ing in 1979 after being a roadie for a close friend who taught him the craft. He always dabbled in DJ’ing by establishing a Mobile DJ company, Simpson Sounds Unlimited(which was the name of the company he established in 1980), to do Weddings and Special Events. In 1994, Pieboy Entertainment was established to take a more active role in the Industry. In 1997, Aaron was offered a Distribution deal through CLR Records(DJ Kool, “Let Me Clear My Throat”) as a way to highlight artists that he was working with. Pieboy Entertainment released a single, “Up and Down” by Mirror Mirror that received a lot of local airplay.
Since then, he has played several local clubs including, Red Maple and the Ottobar, culminating in a weekly party, “No Work on A Sunday”, at Shorty’s in Baltimore, a club that DJ Charles Feelgood was known for in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area. Other clubs that El Pequeno Nino Baterista has played since include The Dew Drop Inn, in Washington D.C., along with Club International and Ziasko’s in Baltimore. A highlight of his career includes playing in the 2019 Puerto Rican Day in New York City in front of 5 Million cheering fans!
El Pequeno Nino Baterista’s musical influences include; Louie Vega, Thommy Davis, DJ Spen, Karizma, Purple Disco Machine, Claptone, and Solomun.
